Good Morning,
It's Sunday morning and I sat down to write about the GetLocalHelp.com site. The question I had was simple, what is Get Local Help all about?
For those of you that know me you know I'm a pretty technical guy. I'm a certified professional in many Microsoft Technologies and work as a Solutions Architect in my day job.
But the Internet intrigues me. The Internet is morphing into this huge social media center. People find thier news, events, business contacts and even entertainment on the net. They have it delivered to their TV's, PC's and Media Players to be consumed when they want it.
This media content is available to you via search, and can even be personalized and delivered to you in the form that is most usable. That form might include a simple Web page, a interactive video presentation or even just audio that gets added to your personal iPod.
Internet Hosting companies like AOL, YouTube, Facebook and MySpace have allowed more people to start putting thier thought, ideas and the news as they see it on display for other to consume.
The key to dealing with this huge amount of information is going to fall to us. We need to take the information, and organize it in a way that is helpful to some segement of the population.
You are the future editors of Internet, and sites like Get Local Help will help to establish portals of refined information. If you are here because you are looking for help with a home improvement project, or simply looking for someone to repair your fence, I hope you find a local resource that has shared thier experiance with you.
If you are a business person that is looking to reach out to the local community with your goods and services. Make contact with your local Community Coordinator. Commuity Coordinators help organize and make sense of information they find in thier communities. If thier is not a local Commuity Coordinator for your area, drop my recuiting team a email at recuiting@getlocalhelp.com with a request or even to recommend someone. We'll start the ball rolling.
Get Local Help is a site designed to allow people to collaborate about thier local communities, to find helpful resources to accomplish thier projects and it's a place to build your business through social networing.
We'll talk again soon. Have Fun!
